TabulaCalculator is a Chrome extension and companion website that helps University of Warwick students track their academic grades. This policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, and your rights.
2. Data Collected
The extension reads the following data from Tabula and Moodle when you initiate a sync:
- Module codes and module names
- Assessment titles, marks, and weightings
This data is stored locally on your device only using chrome.storage.local and localStorage. It is never transmitted to any external server.
3. Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your name, email address, or student ID
- We do not collect passwords or login credentials
- We do not send any data to a remote server
- We do not use analytics or tracking cookies
- We do not share any data with third parties
4. Permissions Used
- activeTab / tabs / scripting: to read grade data from Tabula and Moodle pages you visit
- storage: to save your grades locally on your device
- sidePanel: to display the grade calculator in Chrome's side panel
- alarms: to coordinate background data fetching steps
- host permissions (tabula.warwick.ac.uk, moodle.warwick.ac.uk): to access your grade pages on these university platforms
5. Data Retention
All data is stored locally and cleared each time you visit the TabulaCalculator website. You can clear your data at any time by clicking "Reset" in the extension or clearing your browser's local storage.
